Note: The current US News logo was not designed by the winner of the logo design competition
The University School News is proud to announce Andrew Weitzman ’18 is the winner of the 2016 US News Logo Design Competition. Pinned against 12 competing submissions, Andrew’s logo won out for its clarity, focus, and adherence to competition rules. He was awarded a $20 cash prize for his excellent work.
The month-long competition invited students to create a logo for the US News print and online editions. A very open-ended competition, students were asked to use ‘US Maroon’ and include design elements which relate to University School, the US News, etc. Though we did not get as many submissions as we would have hoped, many of the submissions demonstrated artistic skill and dedication. Besides Andrew’s, other exemplary submissions were sent in by Ryan O’Malley ’17, Danny Andreini ’16, and Cameron Rashidi ’17. Unfortunately, we could only select one winner for the competition.
Thank you for all submissions with a special thanks to Mr. Dunadel Daryoush ’16 for assisting me greatly with the logo competition.
