I enjoy eating meatball pizza. This is a phrase that you would not normally expect to come out of anyone’s lips, but today that will change. Meatballs are just like pepperoni, sausage, or any other meat topping, but different. When ordering a pizza, you normally don’t think, “huh, you know I’m really feeling meatballs this time.” But why not order them? The worst that could happen is that you are told that they don’t put them on pizza. Let’s break down the meatball. The meatball is a clump of meat baked or cooked and then used as an entree or coupled with another food such as spaghetti. The components of a good lasagna dish include noodles, tomato sauce, ground beef, and cheese. Now compare that to meatball pizza. Meatball pizza is made up of crust (same as the carbs you get from the noodles), a tomato sauce, meatballs (same as the ground beef), and cheese. Looking at it that way makes it seems more natural and edible. Next time you go to order a pizza and want to jazz it up a bit, consider adding meatballs on top.
Furthermore, meatballs are an art, and when done right they can be delicious. Instead of filling up your next calzone with peperoni, you could use meatballs. Not only are they healthier by about 500 calories per serving, they also produce less grease. Now instead of biting into your pepperoni calzone and having a wad of flaming hot grease shoot onto your favorite shirt, you can bite into a meatball calzone and satisfy your taste buds. The meatball is a force and craze not to be reckoned with. A study on the popularity of meatball shops in Manhattan showed that meatball shops are both highly rated and booming.
Let’s go back to the meatball pizza. Meatball pizza, if done well, can be delicious. When ordering pizza from Domino’s or Pizza Hut, you don’t normally think to order meatballs on your pizza because it just sounds bad. And to be honest, it probably would be bad because I doubt they know the art of the meatball. The secret to a good meatball pizza is good meatballs. You can’t expect to order some low-key trash meatballs and enjoy them. No no no. You have to make the meatballs or go somewhere where you know they MAKE the meatballs.
All in all, if you find you have some leftover spaghetti and meatballs, consider the possibilities before you throw them out.
