It’s opening night. You’re in the theatre. No, you’re not watching from the audience; rather, you’re on stage! You’re a part of the cast. Once the show is over and the final curtain falls, you and the rest of your cast are thrilled that the show went so well. All of the hard work you put in preparing for the show is finally paying off; you can see the light, and it looks an awful lot like the lights they use on Broadway! You make your way back on to the stage for curtain call. Just when you believe that nothing could possibly go wrong, a fellow cast member gets murdered—a turn for the worse.
You’ve just been placed inside the shoes of the cast of Robbin’ Hood of the Old West. After the star of this musical within a musical is murdered at the end of opening night, it takes a “gumshoe with moxie and a good sense of stagecraft” to solve the case, as director Carol Pribble put it.
Curtains is a musical comedy whodunit that takes viewers backstage of Robbin’ Hood of the Old West and on a journey with Lieutenant Frank Cioffi and the cast to find the murderer.
Nominated for eight Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Original Score, Curtains is a musical sure to have you on the edge of your seat, biting your nails in the suspense, and laughing yourself to tears all at the same time.
I mustn’t say anymore. To find out how this whodunit theatrical masterpiece plays out, join us, the cast and crew, on April 28th, 29th, and 30th in University School’s auditorium at 7:30pm and support your fellow University School students as well as students from Hathaway Brown, Laurel, Hawken, Hudson, Solon, Orange, and Beaumont! Tickets are $6.00 for students and $10.00 for adults. For additional information, see the fliers hung around school or feel free to ask any member of the cast or crew!
There will be wide open space in the auditorium for you and your friends and family to enjoy the show, so head thataway on Thursday, Friday, or Saturday to watch show people put on a show that’ll most certainly be a tough one to follow come this fall 😉 See ya there!
