Then with 5 minutes to go in the first half, Jayden Cunningham passed to Antonio Dargaj and Adam Alt’s gave US a 7-6 lead. Maple Heights then scored on a 30 second drive to go up 12-7 before the half. With 2 minutes to go in the first half, Maple Heights was in the red zone but Brandon Scadlock made a crucial interception in the end zone to prevent a score. At halftime, US honored its future high school football players from the lower school in Shaker. The Preppers scored a touchdown with 8 minutes to go in the third quarter to go up 14-12. Maple Heights scored 2 more times to go up 39-20. This deficit proved too much for US to come back from, but with a playoff spot already secured, last Saturday’s loss was not devastating. This Saturday was the big game. The playoffs.

He managed to construct multiple fourth quarter touchdown drives including a 46 yard touchdown run with only 40 seconds to play that put the Preppers up 49-45. Cunningham ended the game with 635 yards of total offense (288 yards rushing and 347 yards passing) as he propelled the Preppers to the regional semifinals.
